THE SPIRIT OF KISHIDŌ

THE SPIRIT OF KISHIDŌ

Philosophy, Values and Inner Discipline of the World Ju-Jitsu Corporation

The Spirit of Kishidō represents the philosophical and ethical foundation of the World Ju-Jitsu Corporation.
It is not a style, a technique, or a competitive system, but a way of understanding martial practice as a path of responsibility, discipline, and inner growth.
Kishidō defines how technique is generated, how power is controlled, and how the practitioner relates to himself, to others, and to the world.

THE WAY OF THE KNIGHT

The word Kishidō means “The Way of the Knight”.
Within the WJJC, this concept does not refer to aggression or dominance, but to awareness, restraint, and conscious action.
The warrior of Kishidō is not driven by instinct, but by control.
Not by ego, but by responsibility.

ENERGY, PRECISION AND CONTROL

In Kishidō Ju-Jitsu, speed and precision are the result of correctly directed energy.
Power without discipline is chaos.
Technique without awareness is empty.
For this reason, the Kishidō system teaches that every movement must be generated with energy, clarity, and intention.

STRENGHT AND CONTROL

Every martial artist faces an inner duality:
instinct and reason, strength and control, impulse and discipline.
The Spirit of Kishidō does not seek to suppress this duality, but to recognize it and govern it.
True mastery begins where inner balance is achieved.

MARTIAL ETHICS IN THE MODERN WORLD

Kishidō is deeply connected to responsibility.
Responsibility for one’s actions, for the transmission of knowledge, and for the impact martial skills can have on society.
For this reason, the WJJC promotes a vision of Ju-Jitsu that is modern, effective, and realistic, yet firmly anchored in ethical principles and martial integrity.

LIVING THE PATH

The Spirit of Kishidō is not theory.
It is lived on the tatami, in training, in teaching, and in everyday life.
Every seminar, examination, certification, and international activity of the WJJC is guided by this spirit.
The Spirit of Kishidō has also been expressed through written works, conceived as reflections on the martial path, inner discipline, and personal responsibility.
Each book represents a different perspective on the same journey.
